For Stronger Civil Society Organizations: Towards Better Conditions for Financial Sustainability

Members of the Civil Society Organizations Financial Sustainability Network met in Bitola to discuss one of the key issues for the civil society sector – how to create conditions for more stable and sustainable funding of civil society organizations.
The discussion focused on the Law on Donations and Sponsorships in Public Activities (LDSJPA) and the need for its improvement. After more than 15 years, the civil society sector continues to face legal and administrative barriers that make donating more difficult.
Without sustainable organizations, there are no sustainable communities. That is why we continue to jointly advocate for a better legal and institutional framework and for conditions in which civil society organizations can make a long-term contribution to their communities.
The event was organized within the framework of the project “Changes for Sustainability”, implemented by Konekt in partnership with the Youth Association YMCA.mk, with the support of the Government of Switzerland through Civica Mobilitas.
The Foundation for Local Development and Development of Information Technologies – Gevgelija has been an active member of the Financial Sustainability Network since its establishment.
