FLORIT - Gevgelija attended the presentation of the findings of the analysis on tourism development.

On 30 September 2026, a public discussion on the findings of the situation analysis conducted as part of the preparation of the National Tourism Strategy of the Republic of North Macedonia 2027–2032 was held at the Museum of the Macedonian Struggle for Independence in Skopje. Representatives of FLORIT – Gevgelija attended the event.Before this event, a regional workshop for the Southeast Planning Region was held in Strumica, to which we were invited. Through the discussion, we presented our views on Gevgelija, the region, and the Southeast Planning Region.The event was organized as part of the stakeholder consultation process to present the findings to date, open a discussion and dialogue with the tourism sector, and incorporate the sector’s diverse perspectives, experiences, and needs into the further development of the Strategy.The discussion focused on the potential and challenges facing the tourism sector, as well as key issues for its future development: improving tourism infrastructure; creating higher-quality and more competitive tourism products; increasing the length of tourists’ stays; connecting cultural heritage, natural resources, and local products with contemporary tourism trends; and ensuring balanced regional development and sustainable and competitive tourism.Representatives of the tourism sector, the professional and academic communities, and other stakeholders attended the public discussion. The Ministry emphasized that active participation is particularly important in developing a Strategy that responds to the actual conditions and needs of the tourism sector and establishes a clear direction for its sustainable and long-term development for the period 2027–2032.
