Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency means performing the same—or a greater—set of activities with the same or less energy consumed (electric, thermal, light, kinetic) while emitting less carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change defines energy efficiency as inversely proportional to energy intensity. Increased efficiency should not come at the expense of user comfort.

Implementing energy-efficiency measures supports sustainable development. By reducing the use of energy resources today, future generations retain the resources they need for their own growth and development.
